Making Jewellery with Paper

Last year I learnt the basics in jewellery making and have kinda become addicted to playing with beads. I didn't think that sitting with a bead board, a multitude of beads and tools could be so much fun! And what's more you can use these techniques in your card making or scrapbooking projects.
So basically that's what I did!
I created a little jewellery set with papers and beads!

I started by cutting the My Little Shoebox Cute as a Button papers into strips, which looked a bit like long skinny triangles. Then I rolled them tightly around a cocktail stick starting from the wider end.

This makes the beads have some dimension. I added some glue and secured the end shut. After making a few of these in different patterned papers from the collection, I threaded them on to some beading wire and used coloured beads as spacers.

For the charms I used the Cute as a Button stamps and stamped them in Stazon ink on to white shrink plastic. Then I punch a hole out with my cropadile before shrinking them. I then added a jump ring before attaching them to the piece of jewellery.

These are great fun to make and even little people may enjoying having a go too!
Keep smiling
xx
