Stargazer Lily Cards

Today I am here to share my creations using the Bella! My Romance collection.  Even though they are wedding themed they can be used for any occasion.  I teamed this with the Spellbinders Build a Stargazer Lily die to create these everyday cards

This birthday card was made using some of the 'left overs' from other projects and I attached them to one of the Fundamentals Imprint cards.  I die cut a flourish out of the Fundamentals vellum to give it a delicate touch.

For the next card I decided to use the Fundamentals decoupage to create an aperture card.  I put the frame on the front of the card and drew around the inside.  I then cut along the lines before adding the frame.  I built up the rest of the decoupage and put it in the inside of the card before embellishing the rest of the card.

And finally I used a stamp and some embossing powders from the WOW to create the background before building up the rest of the card.

All Loved Up With Ruby Rock-It

Good morning and how are you?  Today I am here to share with you a little project I made for a stunning bride and her groom. 

One of the many reasons I scrap is so that people can remember their special moments.

I really wanted to make this all about them and had an idea to add in their wedding invite. My wedding invite is packed away in a box and I thought it this would be a great idea, so here are the basic items I started with .....

I then added in the gorgeous Bella! At Last collection as the greens matched perfectly!!

To decorate the bottom of the circles I add a lily which I made using the Spellbinders Create a Stargazer Lily die. I could not believe how quick it was to make.

I cut off the top section of the invitation and added to the layout as an embellishment.  The little doves are just beautiful and sit nicely at the end of the flowers.

DCM - June Colour Palette

The new dare is up over on the Daring Cardmakers blog and it's colour palette week.

Kathy chose this beauty with hues of purples and a splash of black and dared us (and you) to create a card using it as inspiration.

Here is the card I made

This is my favourite stamp at the moment and is 'Dancin Mae' from Some Odd Girl.  It really sums me up really!! I decided to colour (not well) Mae in purples and greys and used a mix of Promarkers and Kurecolor pens to do this.  The lilac card really makes the image pop and I just love the Spellbinder Nestabilities Lacy Circles die to mat it on.

The flowers down the side are the Jewel Flowers and Flourishes Cut - Emboss - Stencil dies from Spellbinders and I have been able to use them in my Xcut Xpress machine with the tan mat so I have edges are embossed.  

I have found that you need to set the dial on the Xcut Xpress machine to 5 - 5.5 and then run it through again with the tan mat on top.  The beauty of the Xpress machine is that it can be tweaked ever so slightly to get the perfect cut/emboss!

The papers behind are from one of Ruby Rock-it's older wedding releases, Two Hearts Flourish but are still fantastic to use.  I often get asked too which ink I have used so here I have used the Brilliance Black ink and clear embossing powder.

Beyond The Page - Oriental Chic

Hello, today I am here to share with you a little 'Beyond The Page' project I made using Ruby Rock-it's Oriental Chic collection which is Japanese inspired and has some beautiful nature embellishments to go with it.  I have always liked changing plain items into something with a little more colour and this little case was a great find and perfect as holder for all kinds of things.

I used an {Ikea Rektangel vase}, which is an easy shape to dress up with papers and embellishments.

First I cut some of the {Oriental Chic Miscellanea paper} to cover around the edges of the vase.  I found it easier to measure the width and then cut the paper to size before adding it to the vase.  As the papers are double sided it gives a really stunning effect with the foil side shinning through the inside.

For the front panel I cut on of the {Oriental Chic Phraseology} sections and then put it through the {Spellbinders Tweets and Twigs M-Bossabilities}.  I lightly inked the embossed image to give it some definition.

I then built up the front by using the {Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourishes Shapeabilities} dies to create some swirls and flowers on the left side which helped to set off the foiled butterfly square from the {Oriental Chic Micellanea paper}.

The gold 'smile' is from the {Oriental Chic die-cut pack} and I added this to finish off the front section.  I kept the sides and back fairly simple as I didn't want to distract from the front.  The beautiful gold stickers from the card stock sticker sheets really helped to add some glitz to the side of the vase.
